Certainly, there are built-in programs for transferring photos to and from a mobile phone.  Sometimes using the "cloud" has issues.  For me, there are just times when I want the personal control to direct where a photo is going without relying on folks in Cupertino or Redmond controlling the pathway.  Let's call the Occam's razor approach to computer management. For the one-man shop, it can be a daunting task to have tools for illustrating a report.  Things like timelines, flow charts, and mind node illustrations can be useful for concisely conveying complex topics.   LucidChart even has a template with a "site map", which can be useful for website developers and/or website users.

For some users, a product like Visio is useful and is part of the Microsoft family.  As a Mac user, I am inclined to look around for alternatives.  The LucidChart program is online and has a "free" version and three "paid" steps to meet the needs of various users.

GREAT MEETING This year’s AgroNomics and Annual Meeting was a hit! It was truly one of the best meetings in recent memory. The content of the meeting combined with the facility and the best-ever networking made this meeting one for the books for sure. The auction raised $36K which is the best since 2008. Out of that $36K we had over $4K for the scholarship fund that will help bring college students to Summer Education Week for the career day in Des Moines in July. Chapters are encouraged to make plans now to help with recruiting young men and women to come and to plan for helping them with their travel expenses. Other meeting highlights included a great chapter officers’ interactive session and a Board of Directors Meeting where a dues increase was passed. This was followed by a super awards ceremony where Paul Bierschwale, ARA, was named Appraiser of the Year and R. Edward Kiefer, AFM, ARA, was named Farm Manager of the Year.
