Howdy Texas Chapter!  Carmen here.

I have been updating my profile here on AgProLink and working on the Texas Chapter forum.  I would like to start using this site to keep chapter members informed.  I added some upcoming events and uploaded the registration form for our Spring 2012 meeting.

At the winter meetings I asked if anyone would be interested in hiring an intern or is looking to hire someone in a more permanent role.  I have several students at Morehead State that would be interested in exploring the opportunities with either a farm manager or rural appraiser. Certainly, there are built-in programs for transferring photos to and from a mobile phone.  Sometimes using the "cloud" has issues.  For me, there are just times when I want the personal control to direct where a photo is going without relying on folks in Cupertino or Redmond controlling the pathway.  Let's call the Occam's razor approach to computer management. For the one-man shop, it can be a daunting task to have tools for illustrating a report.  Things like timelines, flow charts, and mind node illustrations can be useful for concisely conveying complex topics.   LucidChart even has a template with a "site map", which can be useful for website developers and/or website users.

For some users, a product like Visio is useful and is part of the Microsoft family.  As a Mac user, I am inclined to look around for alternatives.  The LucidChart program is online and has a "free" version and three "paid" steps to meet the needs of various users.
